So I’m out in the snow. On a nice long snow shoe walk in fresh snow. Blue sky, not too cold and it’s lovely and quiet around me. I have my Black and White camera with me, a medium red filter screwed on the lens and having a good time. The only thing missing for a perfect shot would be some fluffy clouds in the sky. But it’s a good day never the less.
Until the moment my left snow shoe breaks, about half an hour away from the car. I bend down, fix the ties, and then walk for about 5 minutes until I slip out of it again. I bend again, have a closer look and realize the connection between my boot and the snow shoe is now completely broken. I curse, not really looking forward to walk 2 miles through deep snow without snow shoes.
And then I look up and see the wave. Frozen in time, probably waiting for somebody on a snow board to ride it.
And the lesson of the day: Always look up when you’re on the ground, you might just see something inspiring 🙂
