Gotta love April. On one day, you can get sunshine, pouring rain, hail, thunderstorm and then some more rain mixed with snow. I mean, come on, all the weather of all seasons within a mere hour! How much better can it get? Sure, it could be warmer, it would have been less chilling if I would have been wearing warmer cloths (I’m always in wrong cloths), but the drama! Oh, and did I mention the wind?

For us black and white photographers, these situations are as challenging as they are rewarding. Provided you didn’t forget your red filter at home. Once the sun is so kind to blow a nice hole into the cloud formations, you can get some lovely cloud shots

From a post prodcution point of view, I didn’t do much more than crop it to 16:9 format, adjusted the highlights in Lightroom and then gave it the usual Silver Efx treatment.

Lens used: Zeiss Sonnar @ f11 and a red filter
